WooCommerce runs a very large number of stores, and most of the problems people have with it are not really WooCommerce’s fault. They are the accumulated cost of eleven extensions that each seemed reasonable at the time.
Builds
New stores from a few dozen products to tens of thousands. Custom product types, complex variations, trade pricing, wholesale tiers, and the checkout changes that come with selling something more complicated than a t-shirt.
Integrations
The store is rarely the whole system. We have connected WooCommerce to inventory systems, ERPs, 3PLs, accounting packages and shipping carriers. The work is mostly in what happens when the other end is down, which is the part that gets skipped and then costs a weekend.
Rescues
A good part of our WooCommerce work is stores somebody else built. Usually the brief is: it is slow, the admin is unusable, and nobody dares update anything. We audit it, tell you what is actually wrong, and give you a plan with a price. Sometimes the answer is a rebuild. Often it is not, and we say so.
Scale, honestly
WooCommerce will handle far more traffic than most people believe, provided somebody has thought about object caching, the database, and how many queries the product page runs. We have taken stores through Black Friday at four times their previous peak without an outage. We have also told two prospective clients that what they described needed a different platform, and we would do that again.
What it costs
Store builds usually run $25,000 to $90,000 over ten to twenty weeks. A rescue audit is a fixed $3,500 and you get the report whether or not you go on to hire us for the work.
